In order to simulate the motors used in Hybrid vehicle on HILS, the precise motor and inverter models must be calculated very fast. dSPACE applies the model based development method to FPGA and provides electric component library for FPGA (XSG EC Lib) to speed-up HIL setup. This HILS demo simulates the closed-loop motor system in real time with the detailed motor model (spatial harmonic model) on FPGA imported from JMAG.

EDV Design Optimization Support by SaberRD using JMAG-RT Models
Passing through a certain type of energy supplying mechanism, such as (plugged-in) battery, generator, fuel cell, etc., the Win-or-lose of EDV (Electric Drive Vehicle) will be finally determined by the performance of the motor drive. Optimization must be carried out as an integrated system including such energy supplying methods. Moreover, in HEVs, integration should include combustion engine system, to which JMAG-RT models for solenoids contribute though physical controlling. SaberRD, the system level simulator environment that exhibits characteristics of Multi-physics, mixed-signal, variable abstraction-level, and variation/fault-awareness, addresses any design issues in these situations.
